What Is Dry Rot

Dry rot is a type of fungus that targets the resiliency and the strength of the components that make wood strong and durable. Certain amounts of dry rot can be repaired, but not recommended if the affected areas provide structural stability to your building, such as with beams, flooring  and joints. We are able to assess the situation and walk you through your options with common sense solutions.  We can take what looked hopeless, to a beautiful and structurally sound end result.

Dry Rot Process

• We Identify and fix the source of the dry rot.

• Remove affected plaster.

• Treat the affected area with fungicide or replace.

• Allow the area to dry completely.

• Replace the plaster with suitable plaster.

• Monitor for further signs of dry rot and address promptly.

As a skilled plasterer, we have the expertise to tackle any dry rot issues that you may be facing. By following the above process, we can ensure that the affected areas are properly treated and repaired, leaving you with a smooth, dry, and durable finish. Additionally, by addressing any sources of excess moisture or water damage, you can help prevent future dry rot issues from occurring. You can trust in our professionalism and attention to detail, and can feel confident in the quality of our work. So if you’re looking for a plasterer who can handle dry rot issues, look no further than Nugent Plastering.
